WCEI QLD – In Conversation with David Williamson AO and Lee Lewis
Join us for a very special occasion, hosted by WCEI member Zoë Connolly, to celebrate Queensland Theatre’s 50th Anniversary with their new Artistic Director, Lee Lewis, in conversation with the inimitable and much loved Australian playwright, David Williamson AO.
David is also celebrating his 50th year as a playwright, this year, so look forward to much festivity and many amusing back stories to be shared.
After the event at Queensland Theatre, we have been especially invited to attend a performance of David Williamson’s finest comedy, Emerald City, that appropriately and with much anticipation will open Queensland Theatre’s 50th Anniversary Season.
Decades after it was written in 1987, this classic is as sharp as ever; a satirical skewering of the extravagance of yesterday that could have been written today.

The play commences at 6.30pm at QPAC. Approximately a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive from the Bille Brown Theatre. Queensland Theatre staff can assist with any queries you may have.
